Planer Blade Grinder
#21
Its getting to be a real problem.
When I finished the wood processor I had to clear out a bay in the shed. That meant finding a home for the lumber that was there. That meant resawing it and getting it planed and putting it on the ceiling of the veranda. Still haven't found a space for the riding mower that the processor displaced.
On the subject of the veranda, Julia just finished one of the stained glass pieces for above the doors.

The blade grinder suddenly made sense with that last photo.

The picture of the window Pete.
Have the height adjustment pretty much made. Still need to make a fancier bolt.

Not so much. That one reminded me of the early eighties when my mother did a leadlighting course and went mad with it for a couple of years. That is a nice window.
The blade grinder is a nicely designed and built tool, as always.

Is that a linear bearing? How do they hold up in a grinding environment?

Im wondering too Al. Think I'll connect an air line and make it an air bearing, well sort of. If I feed 5 or 10 psi air into the housing while grinding Im hoping it will flush the dust away before it gets in.

Just looking back over this thread Greg and having a closer look at the shaper clamp setup, did you have to drill and tap holes in the end of the table, or were there already holes there?

They were there Pete. 1/2 inch coarse thread, just had to make the plate with slotted holes similar to the plates on the mag table for the grinder.
