Asong AS-235 power feed??
#1
Curious if anyone has any info on a Asong AS-235 power feed for a mill drill. Im looking for a parts and owners manual, and a source for parts. Im gonna start goggling in a minute, but I thought Id ask first for some first hand experience. There seems to be something funky going on in there, when you move the lever to change direction, it doesnt seem to work right. Feels like something is stripped or something. It will move to the right (the table) but when trying to go left the motor turns but it doesnt seem to engage. The lever movement is rough, feels like there are indents for left right and neutral, but they seem to "move".....hard to explain. Want a drawing before I take it apart.

I have an Asong AS-235. I have had it apart. Not surprisingly it is made cheaply. Mine has always been on the noisy side and particularly in one direction. I vaguely remember that one or more of the gears are made from plastic. You may have a partially stripped gear. Its been 3 years since I had mine apart but I think you have to peel the label around the controls off to split the case. Next time around, I'll spend a little more for hopefully better quality. I guess I shouldn't complain. Mine still works.

If you have to remove a label, use a hot air gun. Heat the label evenly. Keep the gun moving. If it's plastic, be careful not to melt it. When it's hot enough, if should peel off cleanly. I have removed paper labels from cardboard boxes and stuck them on new boxes with this method.

If there's any glue left, it can be removed with isopropyl alcohol.

If you can't get one, make one.

Edk, I emailed them about the cracked tag a while back to order a replacement, and I was told they sell Align parts, not Asong, and that the two were different. Wonder if the internals are the same

The tags are probably different but I'll be the innards are the same.

Hi,

Not sure if these photos will help out, I took my Y power feed apart last year and took some photos.
It was playing up half way through making my tool holders and it was stuttering, so I changed it over to the knee and it seems fine there.
