I'm with ya Greg, my problem is you can't use a larger wrench or bigger hammer to bring them into submission. Rotfl

Nice looking machine, love the racks. I cheated and bought ones from McMaster. :)

I used rack and pinions, on my 4' x 4' router. Heavy design for cutting wood & aluminum. wrustle will love my 25,000 rpm spindle! Yes, need flood coolant to avoid melting 1" aluminum plate. :)

Video was first run (little tweaking was needed)

Good video, thanks. Do you use a router bit or a milling cutter on aluminum.
Free advice is worth exactly what you payed for it.

For speed and rigidity, solid carbide end mill. In the video that is a Melin drill mill. 1/4" 90 degree tip, so can peck drill nicely for 1/4" holes. Cutter will drop 0.176" into the backer board (1/4" bit). Catch is to remembering that when you design in 0.125" tabs (oops).

Greg -- your machine looks nice and rigid, so you have some other options other than plasma cutting!

Local metal scrap yard had a bunch of those extrusions... 8' long, with dented ends. So they were scrapped. Thumbsup
