Tom sorry to hear you got bit. Thats usually what happens to me, but remember how you made out like a bandit on that other shipment.
Free advice is worth exactly what you payed for it.

I trued up the wheels on the grinder today, it spins up without vibration and runs very smoothly although you can see a bit of wobble in the wheel flanges just before it stops, a little tune up work on the tables and perhaps a diamond wheel and I think it will serve me fine it is just way too bad that I" got shafted on the shipping and brokerage. This was despite all my efforts to control shipping and brokerage and by the way I have sent an e-mail to ENCO customer service with a link to this thread, I will be interested to see if I hear anything from them. tom

Tom,
I wonder if it would have been cheaper if a member had bought it and shipped it to you. I don't know what has to go through customs so it might not have helped. Just a thought.
By the way, those green wheels that are supplied with those grinders are just green colored cement and worthless. I would invest in a decent green wheel, for carbide, or an aluminum oxide wheel, for HSS, and a diamond wheel. Just some thoughts to consider.
I have an aluminum oxide on one side and still need to get a diamond wheel for the other side.

ED I need to find a good local source for wheels, these cement wheels once dressed up don't look too bad, I ground a couple of high speed blanks and they came out quite well, perhaps I got a little better wheels with mine. tom

Those green wheels are made for grinding carbide so I don't know how well they'll hold up grinding HSS. KBC carries the wheels to fit that grinder.

I HEARD BACK FROM MARK at ENCO CUSTOMER SERVICE he apologized for the mixup on shipping and has told me they would refund the cost of my grinder back to my credit card. This is much more than I expected and is greatly appreciated. It also shows that ENCO is really concerned with customer satisfaction. I will definitely purchase from them again with confidence, I will just be careful that most items are to be shipped parcel post or if larger by UPS.
Once again thanks ENCO especially MARK in customer service, your grinder in my opinion is a quality piece and "I rate your service and customer satisfaction as a 10 out of 10. tom

With Enco, I think it's who you get stuck with in customer service. You got lucky and got a good person. That's good news!
