Been making these book buddies (put it on your thumb and it holds a book open only using one hand) but the hole was just too small.  Didn't fit most thumbs and certainly didn't fit mine.

It measures about 2.5" wide and the hole is aprox .75"

I definitely needed to make it with a bigger hole so I resized it for a 1.25" hole and commenced to cutting out a few.  Stopped it after the first one.

Here it is next to the original.   Jawdrop  Yeah, I don't like that stain color either.  Don't believe the examples they put up by the stains at Menards, Home Depot, ...  

Back to the drawing board.  Resized it to 3" wide and opened the hole to an inch.  Let's see how these turn out..

Much better.  Here it is with the other two.  Still hate that stain.

The stain is English Chestnut.  Supposed to be only slightly darker than the original that is Pecan.
