I bought this digital caliper in 2015 for $44 and I've been very pleased with it. Very repeatable and smooth operating. It recently started to stick so I disassembled it to clean and lubricate it. That required removing the label on the back of the head which left a layer of adhesive. I removed that with some denatured alcohol. I cleaned it up and lubricated it with some Starrett instrument oil and reassembled it. It's back to being a smooth operating instrument.

I bought an iGaging marking knife about a year ago. Even though it was supposed to be hardened, the tip rolled over when trying to mark some oak. I sent it back.
I am extremely hesitant to try any of their other products based on that. Luckily, I have my trusty Mitutoyo (digital) and Starrett (dial) calipers to get me through.
Full of ideas, but slow to produce parts

I can certainly understand your hesitancy. I know I can always trust my Mitutoyo dial caliper and it doesn't require batteries.
