Well, that is too bad. Hope they are able to recover.

I cut the insert on the bandsaw here at work, and then took it home, where I sanded it to fit using the disc sander. Got a nearly perfect fit, and then proceeded to mess up the holes. I Got them sorted out, but they are pretty ugly. When I raised the blade through the plate, it made a horrible screeching sound, but made it through easily. I cleaned up the cut with a needle file to remove burrs.

A new blade and belt has made the saw better than I ever remember. Old blade was recycled in the work bins.
