Purpose??

My new LMS high torque Mini mill has a t slot on the front edge of the table with a round hole at each end.

Regular tee nuts don't fit, so what is the purpose of this slot??

Those are usually used for manual stops. At least that's what I've used them for.

Also sometimes used to mount long pieces to machine the ends such as drilling and tapping holes.

Welcome. My new LMS 3990 just came in this weekend. Now to get mounted to my work bench? Will be following this thread.
