Milling Machine Adapter plates
#1
I had to use one of these today to hold a snowblower part, to the mill table, so I could cut out a couple of broken off studs. I made these plates a while back, I don't use them often, but when the need arises, they are a great asset to have in the shop.

1 - 12" x 12" x 1/2" steel plate, with (121) 1/2"-13 tapped holes and (100) 3/8"-16 tapped holes
1 - 14" x 12" x 1/2" steel plate, with (120) 1/2"-13 tapped holes

They are not ground, but when checked on a surface plate,  they were pretty close.

with the plate secured to the mill table, the multiple holes, give a good selection of holes for clamping oddly shaped parts, to the plate. While not a perfect solution, so far its working for me.

A friend of mine has a Grizzly G3103 mill, and wanted a table plate. He makes custom motorcycle parts and they are often oddly shaped, so he asked for the plate shown below. The plate is 34" x 9" x 1/2", and had (240) 3/8"-16 holes and (12) countersunk holes, he uses flathead allens and t-nuts to luck the plate to the mill table. It takes him about 10 minutes to get it in position.
