Motor Speed reduction gearbox
#1
I’m looking for a speed reduction gearbox to reduce the rpm of a ¼ hp AC 1725 rpm motor to about 40 rpm. I have searched online and prices are amazing.
The application is a sand muller for my foundry. Anyone know a good source for said gearbox? Anyone have plans that a novice could follow to build one?

if your still looking for a gearbox/speed reducer for a muller here's something that may help, if your muller is small enough find a used tread mill that works but someone wants to get rid of and use the motor and speed controller out of it, most have pretty big DC motors in them and you can usually find one pretty reasonable some times free

I know a guy that put one on a belt driven bridgeport mill, that he got dirt cheap.
