Not a cheap solution but you could grip this straight shank ER40 collet chuck in a 1" 5C collet.

Ed, The Maritool solution would work were it not for the very small "through hole".
Darren, don't worry, I could never ask a buddy to pay attention when I can't. What were we talking about? Rotfl

I've decided to abandon the quest for an ER solution in favour of making a different spindle for the end mill grinder and mounting a 3 jaw chuck on it.
I'll 'splain further, with pics, when I get a round toit.
Busy Bee 12-36 lathe, Busy Bee Mill drill, Busy Bee 4x6 bandsaw, Homemade 9x17 bandsaw, Ad infinitum.
