1911 question for TomG.

Hey Tom,
Do you by chance happen to own one of these for measuring the slide rails on a 1911?

   

I'm just looking for dimensions of the fixed anvil and your build came to mind.

I'm thinking about modifying a cheap wire micrometer.

No Willie, don't have one of those. I used a disk mic and a groove mic to measure mine.

OK Tom, I figured as much - but no harm in asking.

Edit:
Slight change of plans today. I was going to buy a cheap Shars micrometer to modify, but won a nice used Mitutoyo can seam micrometer on fleabay for a couple of dollars less than the Shars.
