It works really well too, what you cant see is that the "Vee" blocks are removable and can be replaced with all manner of variations the pressing blade too can be changed, as it is now the blade is welded on but in the original sketch it was held on quite simply by two nuts, (on construction day I just got a little lazy) by changing the blade you can press radiused bends, and by changing the vee blocks you can bend serious plate, if anyone wants a sketch I have no problems providing one, It'll take a few days to sketch it up though but I don't mind as I was always going to do it anyway so just ask.
Best Regards
Rick,
PS, Darren, sorry bud, I don't get it? It's probably me, it's been one of those days.

Do you even have to ask that question?

I was hinting that you could send the rarely used bender that has been retired to a container to me. I'll give it a loving home

Sorry Darren, Of course,
Sometimes I just need to close the Laptop and probably my eyes for a bit
I will put a sketch together in the next week or so, I doubt the postage would be reasonable though Darren, and I do still use it but only for heavy bending where the flypresses just can't take the load. but it is a pretty cheap easy build, I think it took about three or four hours total to do the original build and most of that was on the stand. I used nothing but scrap materials. Even the bottle jack was borrowed from another pressing jig that we used to use on truck king pin replacement.
On a related item, these are great, I bought one for the business and so good was the reaction from the technical staff, that when we had a little win and rewards were deserved, I bought one for each of them to take home for their home workshops. I highly recommend these, buy one if ever you have the opportunity, there is a cheaper version, but these are only £28 and the blade is replaceable, the blade in the business' unit was cut down into two pieces for use inside boxes etc, it could still be used at full length just by clamping both of the blade parts together.
Best Regards
Rick

It was a tongue in cheek comment Rick but I figure if I keep trying someone will eventually say "sure thing Darren, I'll even spring for the shipping". Its an odds thing!!!
I'll just wait for the drawing I this case then

Darren, If ever you'd like me to "post" myself to you, I'd love to visit Oz. I doubt if I have any goodies to stuff in the envelope with me, at least not like Ricks litany of "stuff".

Steve,
please remember to put some holes in the envelope, a few in the top for air and maybe one or two in the bottom for, hmmm, just put some in the bottom too, I'm sure they'll come in handy.

Not sure you would make it past the x-ray scanner Steve but it would be fun to try!

It costs a little more but Fed Ex will do door to door, if that makes it easier.
