Well last fall when racing season ended we had a bunch of used Hoosier sprint car tires to dispose of. Rather than put them in the landfill I got thinking of something to do with them. Well here was one of my solutions.
Cut the sidewalls out of them and use the tread are for shop mats.
Here is a picture:
Be sure to put the tread side down to keep the swarf out of the mat.
Tires are easy to come by, just find your local racer and he will be happy to give you all you need.
