Thanks guys, it was/is a fun project.
If anyone is interested, I have drawings for the pantograph. The way it's set up now it will do 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:6 and 1:10 reductions. I think if I were to make it again, I would consider using steel for the arms and making the spindle belt driven so I could use a larger motor. I'm thinking then it could engrave steel as well as non-ferrous metals.
