It does get in the way from time to time but it does a good job of containing the chips so it stays. I don't like using magnets around metal working tools. They attract too much swarf. It was a pain in the butt when I was using two bolt, now it's fairly easy to install and remove. I'm thinking of coming up with something that I can push into the bolt holes in the vise and not have to screw in a bolt. Something with a press fit into the bolt holes. Probably 3D printed since it would wear out after inserting and removing and I could easily make a new one
