I've some 105 / 155 ordinance (decommissioned) in my collection as well. Certainly not small in stature nor light weight.
I think your 'lumpyness' might be caused by the same problem I always have. Camera shake.
I have a CR-10 so the work envelope is pretty big. However, I design these to screw together and print each part individually. Here is the drawing for the HE shell and you can see the four individual pieces.
I always make the male thread shorter than the female thread, so that the pieces will screw together without any gaps.
Here is the base of the HEAT-T showing the included voids, which reduces the amount of filament used. I started including this in my large models after I had printed the HE.
I think the camera issue had to do with the light and the background, as the other picture came out just fine.
