Finished building the ball turner, need to sand out the cast iron to blend the milling marks, may cold blue some of the parts. Will cold blueing work on cast iron?
Assembled.
Of coarse the first ball to be made was for the handle. Didn't have a piece of aluminum long enough so its most a ball, with a divot where a hole was drilled. That's the finish from the cutter, must say I'm pleased with that.
Tried an 1 1/2 steel one, it showed some chatter, it's the mandrel holding the ball, a cut off 3/8 bolt that's creating the problem. Maybe a larger dia with a cutout to allow the cutter to drop to the 3/8 dia.
After a bit of emery paper.

Free advice is worth exactly what you payed for it.
