I've bought a number of firearms off of Gun Broker and haven't had any issues. Unlike Tom, I have been using a shop about 15 miles from my home years for firearm transfers so didn't have to look for one.
FWIW - You might check on Gun Broker as they may have a list of FFLs local to you which may have some experience with Gun Broker type transfers.
If you are anywhere near Columbia, MO I can probably give you at least one contact to talk to. You've got to promise to list what you have to sell here before you start listing them on Gun Broker though.
