But what do you mean clean metal,

Being brought up in the sand and gravel industry I've always under stood that with stick you just crank up the amps and burn right on through the crud.

Crushing plants are always covered with rust, grease and mud, just scrape it off with a putty knife dry it out with a torch and start welding.
