Nope - the vendor IS Amazon. ("Sold by, and ships from Amazon.com") We only buy items from third party vendors as a last ditch, no other choice, thing. They take their good sweet time (in most cases) to ship anything, and we have to pay the shipping on anything that isn't PRIME eligible. So when Amazon says THEY sell it, and have it IN STOCK, that means it is (supposed to be) sitting on a shelf in one of their warehouses. And if it's on the shelf, that means I get guaranteed two day delivery with PRIME. So when they tell me it's not going to be delivered until a month later, that tells me the shelf is actually empty and their inventory count is wrong. Like I said before, SOMEBODY at Amazon screwed up, plain & simple.
In this case it worked out OK (more or less) because thanks to one of Sunset's posts I have discovered there is a Motion Industries branch here in this area. They gave me an estimated delivery on the Timkin bearings I ordered of February 12th. I emailed the local branch asking if I could set them up as my default for ordering, because the web site set me up with a branch in Alabama instead. The manager said he would take care of it, and "Oh, by the way.... I'm having your bearings shipped overnight to us here and then I'll get them out to you.
I got the bearings on Friday - a full week ahead of their quoted delivery date. Needless to say I think I found a new supplier. THANKS SUNSET!
