Diameter has nothing to do with the count, other than determining how far apart the graduations are. But you don't need to know that, or even the TPI. If your indicator said .120, then divide the dial-to-be into 120 divisions.
Appears to be a metric screw, btw. 1/.120 = 8.3 TPI
Real close to a 3mm pitch (.118").
