Agreed! Exactly what we did, and what I would do in the future. They have their place, and it's under the bench until you haul it outside to use it.
With a bandsaw, which I also prefer for 95% or more of what I cut, the most common failure of a pricey blade is too few "teeth in the cut" or too many. It can be a PITA to change the blade for a cut that takes 5 seconds with an abrasive chop saw. The one I have appears to be a Harbor Freight cheapie, but it works for the few times a year I'll need it.
