Hi Vinny I think Tom will be right and you would be able to lock the windscreen partly open at any angle you wanted for ventilation,  if it was balls between thr two halfs it would probably rattle closed as you bumped along the road ? Is there not some sort of model T forum or club you coukd ask someone to confirm what the original bracket is like.
