Several years ago I had to "service my 4x6, many similar problems as yours.
I had to replace the bronze worm wheel as well.
I sourced worm gear from Union Gear, Quincy Mass. # BWG-1220-SR and the bearing is a 6202ZZ NR/2A.
I also had to machine off the remains of the edge on the rear of the drive wheel and replace it.
Still going strong.
