mill head to table align'

I have a grizzly G1005Z mill/drill.(round column)how do I align the head to the table? purchased a dial indicator that mounts on spindle. however, can't tell whether the spindle is moving, when moving table to check run out. I also installed a power feed on table x axis. purchased from" enco" wasn't a perfect fit made some mod's to mounting bracket works great. chanse
