Our sister company does the repair and rebuild work on some pretty large gearboxes from time to time. A friend over there snagged me some used Timken tapered roller bearing races from the latest job. They are considered scrap but I have used a 10" race to tram my mill.
The big race is about 8 3/8" diameter and the little ones are 5" diameter (roughly since bearings are usually provided in millimeters). I will use them to support work on the mill that requires solid, stable fixturing and clearance from the table to protect the table from undesirable perforations, cuts or gouges! I forgot to measure the height but they are roughly 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" tall.
I will be posting some work this spring using these races but right now I am busy finishing up hunting season.
