For future reference, if you (or anyone else) ever gets a subungual haematoma, you should straighten out a paper clip and heat the end up. It doesn't have to be too hot, just enough to burn through the fingernail. Once through, the blood will cool it and you wont do any damage. Using a drill on the other hand is just asking for trouble.
