I gave one of my older flex shaft tools to a friend of mine the other day for that very reason. Because I know he will use it instead of trying to flip it on eBay or craigslist just to make a buck.

I would rather give it away than try to earn some money off of it. In fact, I have given some of it to a friend of mine who owns the small lathe that he (conveniently) stores in my shop.
The little threading tool holder will likely go to the guy I am buying the surface grinder from. The two holders that take the 332 trigon inserts may also go to him as well. Part of me said "what if I buy a smaller lathe?" and the other part says "what if I get hit by a bus..."
I believe in the pay it forward approach to life...
