I have that type of handle on my Alliant and yes, they are spring-loaded and quite nice when you are using the CNC functions on my machine. At 99 inches per minute (max feed or rapid), the handles would be dangerous spinning around.

Nice job on the oiling system Jack! No overkill, just a great way to preserve the ways from excessive wear.
