a while back I made an oil tank to hold the used motor oil that I use for burner fuel when melting cast iron,
Yesterday I picked up and heating element for an electric hot water heater and thermostat to put in it.
Last night I turned a boss too weld into the tank so I could install the element in it, but I wasn't real happy with the way it turned out. So this morning I made a new one.
The boss in the lathe. Pretty simple job, bore it out and cut a 11 pitch thread, and recess for the square rubber gasket.
With the element waiting for it to warm up so I can empty the oil from the tank and then cut a hole and weld in the boss,
