Todays Face Book find.

Good find Bob.

They can be handy, I have had one for many years. I was in millwright school and the instructor came to me one day with a box full of starter armatures and asked me to turn them. Said "sorry can't, I havn't been checked off on the lathes yet" To which he replied "shut up and go turn them, I know you have a lathe at home and do this all the time" So I said OK, but I will do them tomorrow. The next day, I showed up for class with my Jacobs armature chuck, and proceeded to turn and undercut all the armatures.

They are very handy for those armatures that are not centre drilled and since the bearing journals are often hardened, they can not be centre drilled easily.

Mine does not get used as much anymore since I got a Bison 3 Jaw self Centring Rotating Chuck. See http://www.kbctools.com Page 517 for a picture.
