Bridgeport repair

A few weeks ago while milling a few Pullmax die jigs out of aluminum, the table jumped bucked moved in a way that it isn't supposed to do. Now I've had this for 20-25 years and really haven't done much other than keep lubed. So since it did it while turning the hand crank on the right I thought I'd look there 1st. Plus the dial needed a good cleaning! Well here is what I found.... lower two screws were real loose!
   

I looked online and found a retainer for less than 20$ shipped, So I pulled the collar.

   

installed the proper collar

   

the handle, nuts, dial went into a bucket of water and oxalic acid to remove any rust

   

Then when dried coated with a satin clear acrylic finish

   

reassembled and that part is done

   

Still have to get my boy to help with the backlash and jib adjustments, then we will see if it is back to normal????
