It'll hold in the vise ok if you clamp on the round surface, but it might leave marks. I would put the flat end against the solid jaw and clamp on the square end. A piece of paper between the solid jaw and the part will keep it from moving if you are concerned. And be sure to center it in the vise so it clamps squarely.
