One thing i was told by a old hand was when the parting tool starts complaning was to increase the feed (make it work) if you start to back off things get worse

Your pics of the toolholders modified to directly mount on the QC tool post caused me to spend some more money. I have a 100s of larger carbides and was contemplating making tool holders to fit them for use in my QC tool post but after seeing your post I bought several 1` and 1.5 inch tools off e-bay for a song and will do the same as you and be able to use them in tool holders better suited than those I could make. thanks tom
