That looks pretty good How heavy will it be when it is full of molten aluminium?
DaveH
20 kg maximum
The aluminium should be 7 kg
Be heavy but not stupid heavy
The flasks full of sand will be the problem

Hi
Lads
Bigger castings need bigger tools
Time for a man sized rammer
Will my lathe ever be the same
Hoping to get it cast this weekend

Lol.
Wood and oily metalworking machinery definitely don't mix. I try to avoid it at all costs, although it does provide a good excuse to clean the shop.

You used mahogany for a rammer?
Wood must be cheap in your neck of the woods (no pun intended).
