How old is the unit? The blower motor in my furnace started squealing as well which is what prompted the replacement. After getting the old motor apart I discovered the wicking for the sleeve bearings had completely dried out and didn't have a single drop of oil left. It's a "modern" motor with no oil ports for the bearings. Thankfully we caught it early and I was able to polish out the motor shafts and bushings to clean them up. Re-soaked all the wicking material with fresh machine oil and it's ready for service again if necessary.

Not sure but it's fairly old. It works fine when it's in the 90s and lower. I could turn my shop into a meat locker it gets so cool in there and that's on one of the lower settings. In the fall I'm going to see if I can get access to the motor and get it out to check the bearings.

Got this little guy via delivery today:

   

I plan on using it to help hold round stock in my 5C collet block.  I wasn't comfortable milling a piece sticking out 3" from the end of the collet, and as I have to drill and tap the ends anyway, this will help secure the piece.  At less than $17, I couldn't make it for that.

It's tiny; less than 4" long.  Naturally, the threads were a bit crunchy, but a quick alcohol rinse and lube fixed it right up.  I'll have to make a mounting block to get it to the right height and secure it to the mill.  I'll try to remember to take some pics of the setup when I get started.

When I replaced the quill DRO I had to remove the front panel to get access to it. I lost two of the screws. I was doing a McMaster order so I thought I'd just add the screws to the order. They're M3 screws and I would have had to buy 100 of them. I have no need for that many M3 screws so I decided to order this metric screw kit from Amazon instead. It'll be much more useful than 100 M3 screws.

I often just pick out a different grade of hardware when that happens to me at McMaster. Costs a bit more per piece but you can get them in smaller quantities.

I recently ordered a brass pipe adapter 3/8 male x 3/4 female from Amazon. It took 4 days to get it and they sent me the wrong item anyway. They sent a 3/4 male x 3/8 female reducing bushing with gnarly threads (China). Four days wasted and then I have to deal with returning it on top of that. So I ordered one from McMaster for a few bucks more, got the correct part, and got a better quality part delivered in two days - not four. Amazon is getting to be more and more a roll of the dice and not worth it.

I also do that but in this case there was no better deal. All in quantities of 100.

Had I known, I could have sent you a handful. I've got a number of misc boxes of metric screws from McMaster in different lengths that I only used a few screws out of each. And the next time I need one I usually don't feel like searching through all the boxes to find the right ones and end up ordering more instead.

Big white truck delivered this today. I stumbled on a Home Depot labor day sale (online) a couple of hours before it expired. I was only looking for a cordless die grinder since I already have one of Milwaukee's M12 ratchets. But hey, if they want to give me another one for free I'm not going to argue.
