Chances are, even if you did order one through Amazon they would turn around and change the ship date to August anyway. They are all doing that these days. I ordered some spare fuses for a multi-meter two weeks ago from Crimp Supply via Ebay and they gave me a delivery date of June 24. That day came and went without a word from them. I sent them an Ebay message yesterday and this is what I got in return. Nowhere on Ebay does it say they are adding an extra 30 days to their shipping time!

That was also my thought.
Plus, for the same price I'd rather order from Little Machine Shop.

The other day I went looking for my radius gauges and found them but I thought I had the small set. Instead it's the larger set so I found a good price on a small set of Starrett's and ordered them. They arrived today. I'll get more use out of this small set than I do the larger set.
The case is a bit cheesy compared to the Mitutoyo but it'll do.

More stuff from Little Machine Shop. They didn't specify the TIR on the collets so I'm not expecting them to be top notch.

Ordered a Rohm chuck for the drill press. The run-out on the chuck supplied with the drill press was pretty bad. The arbor will be here next Tuesday.
The chuck only cost $51 so I guess I can't expect the fit and finish of a higher end Rohm. It's not very smooth but I'm hoping it'll smooth out with use. I just hope it's the genuine thing. The key is a bit disappointing though. A bit cheesy.

One of my newer production Jacobs chucks was rough as a cob too. Took it apart and couldn't believe all the dings, burrs and rolled over edges that were inside. After grinding them all out it works like it should.

Your chuck doesn't look bad but yeah, that key looks suspect.

I would like to do that with this chuck but I don't have a shop press anymore.

How far does that Forward vise open up?

I changed a lot of universal joints back in the day with nothing more than a bench vise and a couple of 12pt sockets.

It opens 5". Could you share your technique with me, please.
