Got one of these today. Except I bought the low profile base (305) since I already have one of the standard bases (300). The standard base is pretty tall. I've never had a set of the typical "helping hands" and had to Jerry rig all kinds of things from whatever I had sitting around to hold wires and such. The bases on the 'arms' are magnetic so you can move them wherever you please (that will hold a magnet).

The vise has reversible jaws that will open to 9 inches. Quite a bit larger than my other little Panavise models.

I thought I already had a .0001 DTI but evidently it's either in storage in Minnesota or I've never had one.  17428
I remedied that today.

The retractable casters arrived along with the vise grip clamp for the drill press. If only I had a functioning drill press.  17428

I've got one of those vise grip things. Dunno about yours, but mine won't clamp a piece of sheet metal to the table, has to be thicker so I keep some spacers nearby. Outside of that, it works great!!

It looks like this one doesn't have that problem. I had one similar I bought many years ago that was better built than this one. I got a lot of use out of it but it went to my nephew along with the drill press. It did adjust enough to clamp right down to the table without anything under it.

I guess that is one 'drawback' to my drill press. I can't use anything like that because I don't have any holes or thru-slots in my table. Just some T-slots but at least I can use the same hold down set my mill table uses.

Had to settle for the 4" 4-jaw chuck. Originally Little Machine Shop had an in stock date of July 11th for the 5" 4-jaw chucks. Yesterday they changed it to August 16th. I couldn't wait that long to have a 4-jaw chuck so I ordered the 4".
I ordered the tailstock cam lock conversion kit also.

I never even thought to check Amazon. Plus Little Machine Shop has the chuck and adapter available separately but not as a combo. 17428
They must buy the combo from the factory already put together.
The last time I checked they didn't have the adapter available. Oh well, I'm stuck with the 4" for now. I'll get the 5" later if I need it.
