Sorry, I forgot last night.
Anyway, the distance is roughly 17 3/8" from the bottom of the casting to the top of the belt guard, which is the highest point when it's laying down.

One measurement I forgot to ask for is the overall length the long way. I'm seeing if it will fit underneath the bench I got for the mini lathe. No rush.

I use them when I have time. No money for just collecting stuff.
Haven't touched the lathe since late October. Spent most of November caring for relatives with covid.

The last thing I did with my lathe is chuck up this shaft to cut metric threads on both ends. That was back in October & the shaft is still chucked in the lathe. I'll get to it soon.
