First Milling Machine Lubrication
#1
So I need to get some oil into my Mill.  After searching all over the place for a company that would sell me spindle oil here in Canada, I finally found some.  Seems it's easy to get in the US but not so much here for some reason???  I managed to get some from KBC tool in Canada.  Anyway my mill is a First LC11/2vs.  There is a plate on the side that explains what lube to use and where.....Well it sorta explains it.  I'll attach a picture of that and of the left side of the head where all the oil cups seems to be.  It says spindle oil in the front cup which seems to be "E" but i really have no idea.  Can anyone help?

Actually I prefer the larger ones. My browser will fit it inside but if I need it bigger to see closer up, just click and there it is. That said, I still couldn't see what A is pointing to.

I picked up a bucket of hydraulic oil at Princess auto. I use it on all my machines. Good quality oil, without the additives that they put in motor oil. (Detergent holds water in the oil and other additives hold grit in suspension, so you don't want those.)

If you can't get one, make one.

Thanks for the replies. Ya I joined here awhile ago but haven't posted anything. Just been reading stuff on here. I resized the pictures then re-uploaded them and that seemed to fix it. The spindle oil i found wasn't too bad. I think it was 24$ for a 4L jug. That will likely last me the rest of my life. I got a 20L pail of way oil from an oil company near me when i bought my lathe so i should be good for that for the rest of my life aswell. Just gotta get the oil cups sorted out now.

One more thing to note.....Oil cup "B" is bigger then the rest of them.

"A" is a small oil cup right above the worm gear to rotate the head. I think it might be for the power down feed but not 100% sure. It could also be for the worm gear?

Thanks

That's my guess also.
