Thanks guys, I've convinced myself the poor welding is a result of using flux core wire. I really need to get some gas and a regulator for my welder, that should clean things right up Good excuse as any to buy something for the shop...

I got the lead screw cut this morning. This will allow me to adjust the pedals forward and back. Had a great time cutting this apart and it looks like it's going to work well.

Unfortunately most of us (except for Greg) don't do enough of it to get proficient. I used to gas weld 4130 tube structures for airborne equipment and got pretty good at it, but if I were to pick up a torch and try even a simple weld today, I seriously doubt it would come close to passing inspection. Thanks Tom, I actually bought an oxy/acetlyne torch so I could learn to weld with it, the final goal being able to weld 4130 tube. I'll keep practicing, I just bought a 230V stick welder and when I get time to install another 220v outlet in the garage I'll have a go with that as well.

Got the rest of the parts together for the pedal adjustment contraption.
It might not be the best homebuilt flight simulator but I would be willing to bet it will be the heaviest ?

Good thing it's a simulator and doesn't actually have to get off the ground.

Got a couple more pieces hacked out today.
