Rob,
What type of welder are you using? Nice job of welding up the sculpture. Ed

Hi Rob , coming along nicely , I do like to see a robust job getting done , not like the S***E on sale new everywhere these days, there would only be the odd tack weld on the finished job.
I dont think yours will come to much harm if it takes a knock Cheers Mick

I here you Mick ,,,,,,,,,,,never buy a Doosan forklift the welding on those is very poor , I think they should be re branded as DooDoosan Well tonight's offerings ,not much but better than nowt , finished off the welding ,ground off the weld flush on the underside of the top flange . and ground up and rounded off the edge of the top face of the top flange . Just need to cut a hole into the hearth to fit the fire pot . Cheers Rob

Cheers Bob
A tad more done yesterday ,I got the hole cut into the hearth for the fire pot .After laying out I drilled out the corners with a hole saw ,this is so I would have rad corners, it also gave me a chance to try out the slow air drill John DB gave me ,one of his boot sale finds. It worked a charm. Next joined the holes with the oxy torch . A wee clean up with the grinder . Jobs a good un. Cheers Rob
Nice work Rob.
You'll have so much thermal mass in that hearth you'll burn yourself on it the following day !
