Todays Project - What did you do today?
I paid $950 for the load of logs, up from $850 last year, but labour prices here must be higher, they're asking $90 for a face cord cut and split this spring so won't be dry.
23 cord is a really rough estimate, I cut mine 18 or 19 inches long and the pile varies from 5 to 6 feet high, might be more might be less. Would cut it longer for the boiler but the splitter only opens about 19 inches.
Hopefully this will be the last load done by hand, going to start the wood processor build as soon as a couple of other projects get cleared up.
Free advice is worth exactly what you payed for it.

Wow that is a lot of wood. I have no idea what a cord is other than the bit of string that keeps my pyjama pants up, so I don't scare little old ladies. We work in tonnes here when buying fire wood and just on the picture you posted, we are getting screwed on the price!

Finished up the cross slide scale mounting and made the scale swarf guard. It was a lot of work for such a seemingly small job but it all turned out nicely.
That rectangular cut-out is for access to the cross slide lock. I need to make a plastic cover the will snap into it.

Nice job Ed. It doesn't look like it will eat up too much of your tailstock reach.
