Too cold? ok you stuff the ball in a piece of copper tubing then chuck it.

I like that idea.

Lots of good suggestions for the future. This time I'll be going with Tom's suggestion of using a collet.

Ken,

It'll be awhile. I haven't had much time to spend in the shop lately because of my work schedule and I was fighting a cold for about 10 days.

I'm making a tail stock for my 5C spin indexer. That's what the brass balls will be used for. I'll be sure to take pictures. I should get some time this weekend to work on it.

Thats a REALLY neat design for a tailstock Ed.
On a second note, must be your mill judging from the dirt.

That's an interesting design, definitely something thought up outside of the box. Thumbsup

I don't think it's Ed's Greg, his would be much cleaner.
