Thanks Mick, great minds think alike.

You bring up a very good point. We have spent our entire lives learning the tips and tricks of our trade and those are the very things that stump the beginner. I've had several requests to show how to use a corner rounding end mill on the lathe because I mentioned it in my last video, but didn't show it. It's one of those things that I do all the time and never give it a second thought, but a new machinist has to see it done to be comfortable with the concept. Looks like I'm going to be shooting a video tonight.

An unfortunate term "tips and tricks" I remember being told as an apprentice, don't bother with the "tricks" just learn the trade ........ properly.

The tricks are what you learn to save time after you learn the "proper" way to do it.

There is still plenty of work to be done on the site and I haven't even tried to break it yet. Hopefully it'll be ready in a month or so.

Good on ya, Tom. An organized reference site can only help the hobby machining world. My only suggestion at this point would be a 'Contact Me' button so we can ask questions and make suggestions by email.

Tom,

Are you suggesting you will be hosting the videos rather than hosting them on YouTube and linking to them on your site? If that is the case you are getting bandwidth much cheaper than I've been able to find it.

No Arvid, they will still be hosted on YouTube, it would cost way too much to host them myself. I just need a better way to organize them so they are easy to browse.
