The old saying after the first prototype the rest is easy. After hassles
with flebay and high prices of monoset collets for my mill. I shall repourpose junk from the junk bin. This one will be for 3/8 end mill which
I tapped for an allen set screw. Then I had to chuck a chuck cause
my table chuck I build is too big . Then I couldnt find a true 3/8 reamer
so i turned a true 3/8 round stuck it in the shaper and made my own
ream worked well, and so well when I put a end mill in this collet it pops
when I take it out _ a sucktion pop and its right on.

Nice work big job, it's nice to be able to make your own tooling. Where's the pic of the reamer?

Nice video David.

How do you keep from melting the skimmer, keeping in there for that long? 17428

it takes time for it to come up to melt temp and most of the time I had it almost at the top of the exhaust port where its pretty cool compared to right under the lid. what happened was that I didn't warm the skimmer up and when I stuck it in the melt the liquid metal froze to it the temp drop is so drastic that the metal that was liquid when it hits the skimmer turns almost black because of the temp drop in it.

Dave I'm not sure about the great part on the video, but had fun making it

John I was happy as a frog in a new pond with the heat but a little sore about the furnace wall slumping like it did.

Glad you guys liked the video.
