Looks good Bill. So how do you manually advance/retract the cross slide now? Also, can you give a little more info on the clutch, as I'm not sure I understand it.

OK Darren here goes. This picture is of all the parts. The brass pin, spring, ball and spring pin engage the drive parts.

This picture shows the engagement pin retracted and locked. This is the free wheel position.. You can't see it but there is a 5/32 steel ball between the spring and pin. This keeps them from binding.

This one shows the engagement pin extended. This is the auto feed position. The only hole drilled all the way is the one with the pin in it. The others were made while match drilling, they are just dimples.

The drive parts being assembled. The brass pin will engage with the rear holes. There are 10 positions.

Assembled. As an added precaution that black knob applies enough pressure to allow the pulley to slip if something goes wrong. It is fully adjustable for pressure. With the engagement pin forward you have electric drive. With it back and locked you have manual control.

Almost forgot Darren, there will be a crank handle at the cross slide end, same as before the mod. I faced some 316 today for the heck of it, very nice at .006 cut.

Nice mod Bill. Any aggravation with your sleeves and that belt?
