Metal gears for 7x12s

I want to change the plastic gears on my Red Bull (Chester Conquest) for metal ones. before the 1hp motor has them for breakfast.
The only ones i can find are for Sieg lathes ,can anyone tell me if they will fit.

JMO, but i think some of those lathes/mills with "ONE" plastic gear is kind of a good idea as a safety, like a shear pin , if it happens.

Brian,

Are you having problems with the plastic gears? I have a HF 7x10 that I've had for about 13 years, it was my very first metal lathe, and it has the plastic gears. I've never had a problem with them at all.

I think that would be "just my opinion", but that's just a guess.

here's a link to stock drive products which is were I would them from you may have to pay more, but you will get a lot higher quality of gear.

I have one of the HF 7X12 lathes which I changed the plastic gears in the head to metal ones because I had them from when my mini mill was gear driven.
actually any place that you can buy Module 1 gears from will have the gears you need to swap.

I lke the idea of one plastic gear if its the one on the lay shaft its easy to replace. No Need to remove the spindle, and low cost replacements,
may also be quieter than 2 metal gears.
