It does look pretty cool machined like that, much cooler than a store bought extrusion.

Yeah, I use those step blocks all the time. They are one of the most useful tools in the shop.

Gotta make myself a couple of those multi leaf spacers.
I don't think my feet or legs could take a 3 hour session at the mill anymore.
Besides, the fear of screwing up 1 or 2 hrs. into the job would have me shaking in my already uncomfortable boots.

I have to admit that I got "lost" more than once and had to back and re-establish the count. Not sure if it's too many distractions or just a lack of concentration (i.e. old age).

I've been an avid runner for years, so the legs are fine. It's the mind that concerns me.

photos and plans on the belt sander, or like a lot of my projects were the plans kept in the far recesses of the brain locker. I tend to do a lot of things on the fly with a general idea of what I am wanting, BUT I have been trying to make a concerted effort to use the drawing programs more.

reason I was asking about plans is a friend of mine, and myself included are in need of a belt sander in the 2" wide range.

Where did you get the LED module from?

The LED and driver came from eBay. It's 100 watts and supposedly puts out 8000-9000 lumens, about the same as a 500 watt halogen. At $60 for the set, the payback will be less than six months.
